
The California Mathematics Project (CMP) is a K-16 network dedicated to providing students a rich, rigorous, and coherent mathematics curriculum taught by competent and confident mathematics teachers who foster ALL students’ proficiency in mathematics—achieving equity in quality. CMP enhances teachers’ mathematical content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge that is aligned to the California Mathematics Standards and Framework.

Literacy and language development

The California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) supports schools’ efforts to partner with community agencies and local government to align community resources to improve student outcomes.

The Community Engagement Initiative aims to build trust and strengthen relationships between communities and school districts by fostering the capacity to have difficult conversations focused on improving student outcomes. It identifies effective models of community engagement, develops metrics to evaluate their impact, and promotes peer-to-peer partnerships between districts and county offices of education. These efforts support continuous improvement and the statewide adoption of proven engagement practices.

This competitive grant advances literacy skills through the use of evidence-based practices, activities and interventions, including pre-literacy skills, reading, and writing. The grant serves children from birth through grade twelve, with an emphasis on disadvantaged children, including children living in poverty, English learners, and children with disabilities.

Provide professional learning opportunities for sites that received LCRS funds for Literacy Coaches, Reading Specialists, and Interventionists.

The focus of California’s Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) is to provide all 3- and 4-year-old children with access to high-quality early learning experiences that support their development, school readiness, and long-term academic success.
